Obituary of Gregory Sullivan Kelsey

With grieving hearts we announce the passing of Gregory S. Kelsey, beloved husband, father and grandfather at home surrounded by his wife and children after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 59 on January 28, 2016. Greg is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Darlene, his children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Pearl Kelsie, sisters; Jo-Anne Keel and Darlene Kelsie, brother, Eldred Kelsey, brother-in-law, James Beals, nieces; Tanya Beals and Crystal Keel, nephew Baby Kory. Greg will always be remembered for his love of family life, spending time with close friends and always being the life of the party wearing his flashy dance shoes. Greg enjoyed the outdoors whether it be fishing, yard work, washing his car or socializing with neighbors. Greg enjoyed working with his hands building log homes, carpentry, cement flooring and foundations, siding to name a few and most recently a landscaper with Teak Tree Enterprises. He truly was a jack of all trades. Nobody could read a measuring tape like him! Special thinks to Greg’s Palliative Care Team, the VON, Chris who was a special resource in Greg’s treatment, family, close friends and Teak Tree Enterprises for their generous contribution and support throughout this difficult time. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday February 12, 2016 at 2:00 pm, Lucasville United Baptist Church, Reverend William Stewart officiating. Reception to follow at Wallace Lucas Community Centre. Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lucasville united Baptist Church.
