Obituary of Sybil Geranium Thomas
Sybil Thomas, 90 of Halifax passed away peacefully Monday, May 9th 2016 at V.G Halifax. Born in Antigua W.I, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anne (George) Constant.
Sybil will be remembered most for her love of helping many family and friends. You would find her volunteering at the Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank or at the Seaport Farmer’s Market with her daughter-in-law Stella. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her two sons Jerome (Stella) of Beaverbank; Conrad of England; brother William Constant, Oxford, U.K; sister Chessie Phillip (also known as Vanessa) of Texas; granddaughter Shaylene (Jason) Jeffrey; two great-grandchildren Malachi and Matthias; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is predeceased by her sisters Celestina Joseph and Adela Joseph, brothers Alexander, Carol and Roy Constant.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17th 2016 from 2pm-2:45pm, followed by funeral service at 3pm, both in Cornwallis St. Baptist Church, 5457 Cornwallis Street, Halifax, Rev. Rhonda Britton officiating. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery on Wednesday, May 18th 2016 at 3pm. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Cornwallis St. Baptist Church.
