Obituary of Evelyn Maskine

Evelyn Maskine, age 79 years, of Halifax, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 4th, 2016. Evelyn was born to the late Ibrahim and Marianna Zibara on March 10th, 1937. Married for 63 years, the predeceased Phillip and Evelyn were wed in their hometown of Hasroun. The couple immigrated into Canada in 1971 where they raised their four children. Evelyn enjoyed a long career at the Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home. Evelyn remained connected to her roots, and cherished her family and new home in Nova Scotia. Evelyn was devoted to her family and loved to cook for her children and grandchildren. Evelyn enjoyed the simple things in life, such as: being surrounded by her grandchildren, playing cards with her children and caring for everyone around her. She is survived by sister, Lor (Merheb); children, Loulou (Frank) Dawe, Marie (Domianos) Latouf, Tony (Jamileh) Maskine, Claudette (the late Toni) Isshac; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Laba Zibara; husband, Phillip Maskine. Donations can be kindly made to the Our Lady of Lebanon Parish. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 from 5-9pm at the Our Lady of Lebanon Parish. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 at 10:30am also at the Our Lady of Lebanon Parish. Funeral arrangements entrusted to T.J.
