Obituary of Wayne Bryan Clancey

Clancey, Wayne Bryan, 68, of Bedford passed away June 10, 2016 in the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax he was the oldest son of the late Leonard and Betty (Wilson) Clancey. He was a retiree of Canada Post and prior to this he was a veteran taxi driver for 25 years. Wayne played baseball as a boy in Prospect; reaching senior “A” status as an All Star first baseman on the Halifax Commons. Through this extraordinary talent he travelled in various leagues and tournaments throughout Canada. (Dad you finally have all your players.). He is survived by sons Wayne (Suzanne) and grandson Tyler; Patrick and granddaughters Alyssa, Ashley, and Autumn. Wayne is also survived by his best friend ever, Paula Ryan; sisters, Marlene McGinn, Prospect; Belinda Pelrine and Brenda Clancey, Halifax; sister-in-law, Yvette d’Entremont and family, Halifax; our special Aunt Betty and many cousins. Uncle Wayne enjoyed a close relationship with his niece Shannon (Pierre); nephews, Danny (Teri), Patrick (Greg), Gregory (Joe), and Justin; great-nephews, Gavin, Jesse, Peter, and Jordan; great-niece Alena Reid and her Mom Tammy. Wayne was predeceased by his brother Lenny; nephew, Lennie and brother-in-law Peter McGinn. A celebration of life will be held June 17, 2016, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 3609 Prospect Road, Shad Bay, NS. Reverend Duncan MacMaster officiating. Interment to follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Prospect. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Prospect Cemetery Committee, c/o 1710 Prospect Bay Road, Prospect Village, NS B3T 2B3.
