Obituary of Jean Isabel Young

Jean Isabel (Jeanne) Young, 75 passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2016 surrounded by family. Jeanne was born in North Sydney, the daughter of Fraser and Peggy (Acton) Martell. She is survived by daughter, Gina Young; by son, Bob (Susan) Young; grandchildren, Rachel Millar, Maggie Millar, Robyn Young; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Ian Kehayes. She is also survived by brothers, Charlie (Diane), Burlington; Sandy, Bedford; Kevin, Bedford and sisters Kay (Bob) Bieren, Halifax; Lynn (Graeme) Macdonald, Port Hood and Debbie Hopkins, Bedford as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Sonny, Donald (in infancy), Kenny, Billy, Ian and sister Irene Bungay. A special thank you to Devon and the Palliative Care team and the VON. Also, a heartfelt appreciation to Cheryl and Martina and team from Closing the Gap who provided exceptional personal care. Donations to Palliative Care, Capital Health would be appreciated. A service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 29th at St. John’s Anglican Church, 2187 Larry Uteck, Boulevard (west) Halifax, refreshments to follow. A family committal service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney on Thursday, June 30th at 2:30 P.M.
