Obituary of Alexandra Jane Thompson

Alexandra Jane Thompson, age 68, of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away July 31, 2016 at Victoria General Hospital. Born in Caterham, a County of Surrey, England, she was the daughter of the late Alistair Gordon-Ingram and Barbara Steel. As a professional writer and editor, she wrote and published many books about the history of Nova Scotia. She also helped develop drug educational programs as well as worked with First Nations youths. Her creative personality and incredible wit gave her a unique perspective on life, she would often delight people with her quirky sense of humor. She was kind and loved by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband Dave Thompson, her brother Simon Ingram, her two sons Jeremy and Steven Thompson, daughters in law My Yen Trung and Theresa Thompson and one granddaughter, Brianna Thompson. A closed service is being held to celebrate and honour her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
