Obituary of James Brian Prescott

James Brian Prescott, 59 of Brookside passed July 30, 2016. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Lloyd Prescott and Bessie (Pierce). Jim was a faithful husband, loving father and steadfast provider. He was a reliable and hardworking man with over 30 years of service at Oland’s Breweries. From an early age Jim had an interest in cars and motorcycles. He took great pride in working on them. His favourite pastime was riding his motorcycle; either alone or with friends. Jim was an active person who enjoyed swimming, working out at the gym and loved the outdoors. He will be fondly remembered for his big laugh and wonderful smile. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Rachel (Harris), children Ashley and Jordan at home, Krista Young (Justin Anderson), granddaughter Olivia Young, Sydney Mines. Sister “Sue” Elizabeth (Bill) Sperdakes, Bedford, brother Billy (Marlene) Prescott, Mount Uniacke, sisters-in-law Wendy Trefry (Tony) Truro, Doreen (Gerry) Hebb, Julie (James) Hatfield, Janie (Ken) Harding, Noella Nickerson (Matt), Stephanie (Jimmy) Moody and father-in-law James Harris, all of Yarmouth Co. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by his brother Earle Prescott, brother-in-law Aaron Harris, mother-in-law Mildred Harris. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Sat Aug 6, 1pm at St. John’s Anglican Church, 2187 Larry Uteck Blvd, Bedford. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to IWK or Alzheimer’s Society.
