Anna Lorraine (MacDonald) McLean
On Sunday, April 14, 2019, Heaven gained the most beautiful angel. It is with heartfelt sadness, the children of Lorraine McLean, age 83, announce her passing at Hastings Manor, Belleville, Ontario surrounded by her three daughters.
Born in Glace Bay, Lorraine was the eldest daughter of Donald and Elizabeth MacDonald.&sp; Lorraine’s true passions in life were family, friends, Cape Breton, and her love of music – qualities she instilled in her children and grandchildren. There is nothing she loved more than family gatherings and a room filled with laughter.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 49 years John McLean; a grandson, Cole Fredericks; her parents, Donald and Elizabeth MacDonald; her brothers, Phillip and Donnie and her youngest sister, Betty (Muck). Lorraine was also predeceased by two of her best friends and sisters-in-law Frances (Richard) Lasouski and Karen (Jackie) MacDonald.
Lorraine is survived by her nine children John, Cold Lake, AB; Lorna (Derrick), Sydney, NS; David, Cold Lake, AB; Joanne (Pat), Cold Lake, AB; Brian, Cambridge, ON; Allan, Cold Lake, AB; Bradley (Adean), Bras D’Or, NS; Lisa (Steven) Trenton, ON; Trevor (Sarah), Oromocto, NB, along with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Jackie and Robert (Florence); her sisters Alice MacDonald and Linda(Moe) Morrison. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Ma also leaves to mourn long time dear friends and neighbor’s Mary O’Handley, Josie Higgins and Norma Roper.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 11-2 p.m. witha memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding, all taking place at TJ Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). Reception to follow. Interment to take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
At this time, we would like to thank the staff of Spruce and Elm Villa at Hastings Manor for their love and compassion displayed daily to our mother and the outpouring of love and support from friends and family.
