Obituary of Frederick C. Hodgson

HODGSON, Frederick Charles – Age 68. It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the death of our father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Fred, who passed away quietly in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax on September 4, 2016. Born in Halifax, July 20, 1948, he was a son of Lawrence and Marion (Wile) Hodgson. Fred is survived by daughters, Shauna Little, Lower Sackville; Shelly Hodgson (Jamie), Fort MacMurray; ex-wife, Billie Hodgson; grandchildren, Victoria and Brennon; sister, Barbara Boutilier, Lower Sackville; brother, Ronnie, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; twin brother, Bobby; sister, Gloria Hodgson. Fred worked for many years in shoe sales in Halifax including Dack’s Shoes in Barrington Place and Florsheim Shoes in Scotia Square and Lord Nelson Arcade. He took great pride in serving his customers. He had a love of music and old cars, a flair for decorating and landscaping. No job was ever too big for him to tackle. Heartfelt thanks from family to nurses and doctors on 5A VG Site for their care and understanding. Cremation and private family service has taken place. Donations in Fred’s memory can be made to Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. Go peacefully into the light Fred – there you will be embraced by all who have gone before you.
