Obituary of Peter Bernard McGillivary

MCGILLIVARY, Peter Bernard of Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of a dear husband, father, son, brother, uncle and godfather, Peter Bernard McGillivary on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Glace Bay at the age of 45. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the Late Charles and Mary (MacKinnon) McGillivary. Peter had a great sense of humor that would always bring a smile to those he encountered. He was happiest spending time with his family and friends, especially his two special little friends Maddy-moo and Samantha. Peter was a very outgoing person and had a heart of gold, always offering to help anyone in any way he could. Peter is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 22 years, Dawn McGillivary; daughters, Lisa (James), Chelsea (Mason); sons, Stephen, Peter Jr. (Jessica); brothers, Charles (Melinda), Naish (Stacy), Jimmy (Linda), Danny (Darlene), Pius (Crystal), Alex (Tammy) Jamie (Crystal); sisters, Shirley (Simon), Kathy (Gerry), Margie (Dennis), Corrine (Bernie), Ruby (Gary), Judy (Al), , Jackie (Myles), Valerie, Dolly (Darryl) Terrilynn (Chuck) and grandchildren, Connor and Allie, also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Peter was predeceased by his sister, Debbie McDougall. Visitation for Peter will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. at TJ Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the TJ Tracey Memorial Chapel, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, with reception to follow.
