Keith “Bam Bam” MacKeigan
Glace Bay
It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother, Keith MacKeigan, age 52, on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at his residence.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Robert and Shirley (Lynk) MacKeigan of Bridgeport.
Keith was a kind, caring soul and had the best laugh. He had a great love for music and he loved playing his guitar. Keith would talk to people he didn’t even know, like he knew them forever. He was passionate about his love of horses and would tell stories about riding horses back in his day. He loved his family and made sure he called each and every one of them many times a day. Everyone waited for his phone calls. He also loved his only daughter Santana and tried to see her as much as he could. Keith enjoyed going to Sarto’s store everyday and had a chat with Noble Sarto. He liked drinking the pop and scratching lotto tickets hoping to get lucky. Keith enjoyed going to the family camp in Iona, where he met numerous friends, Pat and Charlie Fry and James McNeil. He was a member of Row St. Club.
Keith is survived by his daughter, Santana; his brothers, Billy, Kenny (Donna), Eddie (Bernadette); sisters, Shirley (Ricky), Florence (Dave), Colleen (Kerry), Cheryl (Stanley); sister-in-law, Ann Marie; as well as many numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Junior, his brother-in-law, Richie, sister-in-law, Ruth. We would like to thank Dr. Ley for his kindness and care given to Keith and mental health office in Glace Bay. Keith you will live in our hearts forever. Fly high with the angels.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). A funeral service will take place Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Melvin Wheaton officiating. Reception to follow.
