Obituary of Joseph Angus Madore

Joseph Angus Madore – 75 of Glace Bay passed away October 21, 2016 at the Palliative Care Unit, Regional Hospital with family by his side. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Madore. Joe worked at Devco for 31 years as a mine examiner. Joe was a long time member of Glace Bay Seniors Club. Joe’s passion was for dancing. He bowled for many years at Heather Lanes and was a volunteer with the school children bowling leagues. In younger years he played ball with the New Aberdeen Aces. He loved to walk his dog ‘Bear’ at Dominion Beach. He is survived by his loving wife: Mary Lorraine MacKinnon; sons: Joey, Glace Bay, Robby (Sandra); Gary, both of BC; brothers: Billy (Joan), Nickie (Jean), Nashie, all of Glace Bay; sister: Theresa Brushett, Lake Ansley; grandson: Leland (mother) Audrey, Halifax; granddaughter: Jeadyn, BC; and many nephews and nieces. Predeceased his parents; sister Charlotte Timmons; brother in law Jackie; sister in law Laura; and niece Sandy. Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 28, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the T.J. Tracey Memorial Chapel, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, with reception to follow. Rev. Paul MacGillivary officiating. Interment at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton or a charity of one’s choice. Special thanks to Rev. Paul MacGillivary for all his blessings and Deacon Leo Penny for the time spent with Joe. Special thanks to Dr. Reggie Sebastian, Dr. D’Intino, and all the doctors and nurses of An Cala Palliative Care Unit, Cancer Unit, 4B, the CBRH and Glace Bay Emergency Departments, especially Dr. MacKay, for their compassion, care, and support. Thanks also to the VON nurses, and Janet at Shoppers Drug Mart for all your extra help. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of T.J.
