Obituary of Donna Marie Coade

Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Donna Marie Coade, 74, nee Hollett of Upper Tantallon, NS on Saturday November 19th, 2016. After a lengthy battle with cancer, she left us peacefully at home in her sleep surrounded by family. Donna was born in Halifax, to the late Fred and Genora Hollett. She is survived by her husband, Peter, son Graham (Cindy Dunn), daughter Heather McNulty (Chris), grandsons, Ben and Graham McNulty and granddaughters Sophie and Lauren Coade. She is also survived by her siblings, Rosalee Hollett (Fred), Glenn Hollett (Sandy), Carol Hollett Glasgow (Ian) and Lynne MacLean. In addition to her parents, Donna was predeceased by her brothers Ross in infancy and Earl as well as her brother in law Joe MacLean. Donna was a long time employee at Simpsons in Toronto. She volunteered in many charities. Shortly after their marriage, Donna and Pete moved to Truro and began their family. They moved to Goose Bay and eventually moved to Toronto where they spent 20 years. In 1990, they moved back home to Nova Scotia. Donna was a giver; she loved and cared for all the people around her. Donna’s two main passions were her Grandchildren, and spending time at the trailer. Donna enjoyed many summers in Rayport Campground with the many friends who quickly became part of her extended family (as long as the campfire didn’t get overly large). Previously she had been a member of Redhatters, BSP Sorority, and a member of a Mahjong group. On behalf of Donna we would like to express our gratitude to all family, friends and neighbours who have gone above and beyond to make Donna’s final days as comfortable as possible. Special acknowledgement to home care workers Sarah, Alex, Tracey, Kyle, Jessie and Bridget, for their dedication, care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of Donna’s life at Estabrooks Community Centre, 4408 St. Margaret’s Bay Road, Lewis Lake, on Sunday, December 11th, 2016 from 12 noon to 3 pm. Everyone knows how much Donna loved purple. Please wear something purple to the Celebration if you would like to. In lieu of flowers, Donna’s wishes were to have unwrapped toys brought to her celebration of life that will be donated to needy children for Christmas.
