Obituary of Beverley A. Wallace

Please share a memory of Beverley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beverley Ann Wallace (nee Downey) was surrounded by friends and her three daughters at the time of her death on December 18, 2016. Beverley was born in Moncton, NB and moved to Halifax with her family as a child. She retained a deep connection to New Brunswick throughout her life, having lived in Moncton, Grand Bay, and Fredericton. Beverley was a gregarious soul and a consummate learner. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, and went on to earn a Master’s of Social Work from Carleton University in Ottawa. She started her professional career as a social worker later in life and worked in Fredericton, Yarmouth, and Truro. Beverley had a curious spirit and was a lifelong student of philosophy and the humanities. She had the greenest of thumbs and a lifelong interest in landscape architecture. She was a renaissance woman – a gardener, baker, gourmet cook and capable seamstress, all while being a keenly informed woman ahead of her times. Her daughters are deeply grateful for the importance she placed on independence, resourcefulness, and being open to new experiences. She is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth, Patsy, and Sara, her friend Tom O’Neil, her mother Lillian, and her brother Roy(Brenda). She is predeceased by her father Autho, her brother Dennis, and her children’s father, Bruce Wallace. A reception is planned on December 27, 2-4 pm, at Fort Massey United Church Hall Parlour Room (Tobin Street Entrance).
