Stephen Malcolm MacMullin
Glace Bay
1958-2016
It is with deepest sorrow that Deborah (MacNeil) MacMullin regrets to announce the sudden passing of her beloved husband, Stephen, at home. Stephen was a son of the late Malcolm and June (Young) MacMullin of Sydney Mines.
Stephen was presently employed in the shipping and receiving department of Walmart, Sydney. He was a 4th degree member of the KOC. Stephen will be remembered as a quiet man who enjoyed doing for others.
Stephen was a homebody who took great pride and pleasure using his skills in woodworking and landscaping to keep his home looking its best. Festive decorations could be seen during various holidays while flowers and shrubs of many variations provided an attractive and comfortable environment year round.
Stephen had a deep and caring concern for animals. His furry friends because treasures in his life. Many became permanent residents, his cat family at home, while many others simply dropped by for a sleepover, a warm saucer of milk or a little affection. Stephen loved them all. His greatest treasure came as a gift on Father’s Day from his wife, Debbie. “Bitsy” became Stephen’s best friend and constant companion. He loved her dearly.
Stephen leaves behind, his loving wife of 17 years, Debbie; Debbie’s son, Curtis Nega; Debbie’s daughter and son-in-law Andrea (Nega) and Shawn MacNeil, Alberta; also surviving are his in-laws, Ted and Marg MacNeil of Reserve Mines. Stephen also has several cousins in the Cape Breton area.
