It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Dear Mother and grandmother, Nina “Edith” McIntyre of Glace Bay, 95 who passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Glace Bay General Hospital. Born in Guysborough, N.S. she was a daughter of the late Murray and Elizabeth (Peart) Gosbee. “Ma”, was a long-time resident of Bridgeport. She was a homemaker and was happiest when she was surrounded by family and friends. She dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a selfless, humble, gentle, kind soul who welcomed everyone to her home and fed all who visited with her delicious cooking and baking. She loved to laugh and share stories. She had a great sense of humour. Edith was a devote Catholic with amazing faith. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Bridgeport. She is survived by sons, Warren (Linda), Doug (Elsie), Glace Bay, Allan (Anne Marie), Halifax; daughter, Marlene Gouthro, Sydney and one very special granddaughter, Glenna Locke; son-in-law, Daniel Davidson; brothers, Frank (Rose) Gosbee and Garfield Gosbee; sister-in-law, Shirley Gosbee also survived by 16 grandchildren, Donald, David, Karyn, Dwayne, Paula, Michael, Glenna, Shaun, Brian, Matthew, Michael, Alanna, Morgan, Claire, Catherine, and Graham; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand daughter and several nieces and nephews Edith was predeceased by husband, Michael (Red Mick) McIntyre; daughter, Donna Davidson; grandson, James (Jimmy Bore) Davidson; twin sister, Trudy Bresson; sister, Dot MacPherson; brother, Max Gosbee; son-in-law, Greg Gouthro; daughter-in-law, Marie McIntyre and sister-in-law, Pauline Gosbee. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 3– 7 p.m. in T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, 902-849-4199. A funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Parish, Bridgeport, with Rev. Norman MacPhee officiating. Donations can be made to the N.S. CNIB or the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
