Obituary of Freeman Henry Walsh

Freeman Henry Walsh, age 87 of Halifax (formerly of Pockwock), passed away March 3rd 2019 at the Veterans Memorial Building, Halifax. Born in Tangier, Nova Scotia, he was a son of William and Bessie (MacDonald) Walsh. Freeman was a Korean War Veteran, car salesman, taxi driver, and auto body worker in his younger years. He enjoyed baseball, bowling, darts, a good poker game, and a drink of whiskey. He is survived by his brother Harold (Mary) of Falmouth NS; Roxie of Sackville NS, Alice of Hammonds Plains NS, and Deanie. (Joe) of Sackville NS; as well as several nieces and nephews. Beside his parents, Freeman was predeceased by wife Hazel of 30 years; and sisters Jessie, Margaret, Claire. No visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 10:30 AM at St, John Vianney Church, 4 Beaver Bank Road, Lower Sackville NS, with reception to follow downstairs. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses of 5 West, Veterans Memorial Building, and a special thanks to Suzanne. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J.
