Age 78 of Bedford. Nelson died peacefully on January 1, 2017 at the QEII Centre in Halifax, surrounded by his family and listening to the Old Time fiddling music that he loved so much. Born in Port Felix, Guysborough County, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Deltina (Marr) Pellerin. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anna (Boudreau); daughter Karen (Olivier Schmitt), Lepuix, France; daughter Sheila (Edward de Zeeuw), Lower Sackville; grandchildren Louis, Kayla, Tyler and Emile; sisters Emily LaPierre, Lower Sackville; and Donna Gelinas, Beaverbank; sister-in-law Barbara (Green) Pellerin, Dartmouth; maternal aunt Geraldine Levandier, Halifax, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Russell. He served as a peacekeeper in Cyprus with the Canadian Guards and worked as an insulator for Guildfords for over thirty years. Active in his parish, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. We would like to thank unit 4.2 nurses for their competent and compassionate care. Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m Friday, January 6 followed by a funeral mass Saturday, January 7, at 1pm both at St. Ignatius Church in Bedford.
