Our heartfelt condolences go out to Shawn, Stephen, Heather and Suzanne in Reid’s recent passing. We had hoped to be there on Sunday and express our sympathy in person, but other commitments prevented us from attending. We have known Reid from his early days in Truro, and will always remember his mischievous ways and Gail remembers Reid as a great jive partner on the dancefloor in his younger years. He will be missed at the hunting camp and will always be remembered as “the banker”. Condolences to you all and may he rest in peace.

I’m having a bit of a hard time with this obit. I knew Reid all of my life. We went to school together and his father and mother were great friends of my mother. IN fact Mr. Reid was the principal at Truro Jr. High and gave me my first “detention” I was mortifie and hid in the lockers. Reid remained a friend for life and we had recently written and hooked up after our last reunion. Seems we are all reaching these areas of hurt, dismay and loss. it’s all part of the evolution of life but a hard pill to swallow. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy, I dearly loved Reid and will miss him in my life even if only for moments. My memory is long and he will be in my heart forever.

Addendum: I also want to mention Reid’s sister, my mother, Cathy Noble who has phoned Reid weekly for years. She has kept the relationship with her brother even though they live thousands of miles a part.

Reid, my maternal uncle, took me to Quebec City for my 16th birthday. After dinner we went dancing, the drinking age was probably 18. This action speaks to his mischievous nature. It was the year the song YMCA came out…. I remember us dancing to it.
This New Year’s Eve I was at a dance and felt Reid’s joy as YMCA was played. Everyone was on the dance floor enjoying themselves. In the last 38 years I don’t think he’s missed a birthday or Christmas. The attributes I will remember are; his loyalty, desire to enjoy life, and his mischievous nature.
Heather, Shawn, Stephen, Suzanne and all your family members, my heart felt condolences and love. May he find peace.

Sorry to hear of Reid’s passing – I worked with him for many years through the insurance industry. We did lose touch for some time but our paths would always cross and we would catch up. I remember the many phone conversations & conversations in person where we would share a joke or two. My sympathy to his family…

It was with sorrow I read of Reid’s passing . Our friendship goes back to 1960 when we were both young bankers with RBC. In 1963 i was transferred to Halifax and boarded with the Cox family for several months. Reid and I shared a large room in his parents home and spent lots of time talking about banking and more importantly his romance with Ev. His parents were 2 of the nicest people I have ever met and his father my wife’s favorite teacher in high school.
After I left the bank he tracked me down in Hamilton in early 80’s and wanted information on a business that had started while I was living in Edmonton which I obtained. In the late 90’s we had contact in Halifax and he shared that Ev had passed away.
To his children, grandchildren, his wife & his sister & all those impacted I would add my sympathy to those who have commented. Reid was 1 of the happiest people i ever met and his boyish grin ,and twinkly eyes will always be in my memory bank. My deepest condolences on your loss.

Suzanne & Family,
I am so sorry to learn of Reid’s passing. He was such a part of my teenage years. We had many laughs together when he boarded with my family when his parents moved to Halifax. You might say he was like a brother to me. My sympathies to you all.
