Arlene, Ruth, Joan, Alma & families. So sorry to hear about your loss. Despite the circumstances last June in Lewisporte, it was really good to see his smiling face again. Although it has been many years since we have saw each other & had a chat, to me he was still the David I knew when I was a little girl that used to come to their place with my parents for a vacation. Our parents were good friends & camping buddies & our fathers worked together with Marine Atlantic many years ago. I am sending my deepest condolences to you all. Diane & Barry Budden

I can’t express the heartbreaking loss I’m feeling. Dave was more than a father to me. He was also the best friend a girl could ask for. He was always there for me and my family in so many ways. I will miss your perfect smile your warm hugs and most of all your loving heart.
Not being biologically related to me didn’t make you any less of a father. Being a real father isn’t in the DNA, it’s in the heart. And you had the biggest heart!!
I will not say good bye to you, it’s see you later!
Rest peacefully, until we meet again.
Love you forever,
Your girl Angie.

Dear Arlene and family. I was truly saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. Although I didn’t know him, I could see the love you had for him whenever I spoke with you. May you find the strength to carry on as he surely was your sole mate. Stay strong as I know that you are, and remember all the great times you had. I know your heart is broken and that never goes away. Please take care of yourself and if you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I also hope your mom is doing well. Thinking of you. Effie

Such a beautiful soul! I will miss hearing his voice. His voice sounded so much like my brother, Dick, his Dad. I loved hearing him say, I Love You, Aunt Hazel. Too many years and distance kept us apart. But, our many memories and love drew us together.
Love you, David.
Love you, Arlene.
