Obituary of Stanley Plichie

Stanley Plichie, 74, of Glace Bay passed away January 22, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Glace Bay he was the son of the late Joseph and Flora Plichie.
Stanley was a coal miner and blacksmith having worked in Number 20 Colliery and Devco Machine Shop. He thoroughly enjoyed his summers spent at the Mira Water Park with family and friends. During his winter months on Friday nights, he was known to tip some beers with local friends in the barn.
He is survived by the love of his life, Linda (Bodhaine) Plichie; sons, Bernie (Juanita) and Stanley (Sheri); daughters, Pauline (Gary) Wilneff, Angela (Kevin) Oliver and Flora Lynn Plichie. He is also survived by one brother, Rudy Plichie and sisters, Coletta Fenner and Margie O’Brien; grandchildren, CJ, Greg, Matthew, Skyler, Mikaela, Kevin, Jaycee, Hope, Gary and Faith; great grandchildren, Hunter and Logan and many nieces and nephews.
Stanley was predeceased by brothers, John, Louis and Roy; sisters Rosetta and Gabriella.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will take place Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist Memorial Chapel, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay (902) 849-4199, with Rev. Carol Gillard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
