Obituary of Rose Teresa Landry

It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Rose Teresa Landry, age 83, a long-time resident of Frenchvale, on Sunday, February 5th, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. In 1978 Teresa was welcomed into Donald and Margaret (Peggy) Rankins Family and spent many happy years at Donmar Farms. Teresa enjoyed overseeing the daily operations of the farm and her greatest joy was playing with her dog, Terry. She loved all animals and enjoyed watching the deer and horses in the fields. Her talent was knitting and crocheting. She took great pride in knitting hats, mitts, scarves and afghans for friends and family. In recent years, you could find her having a tea and working on her newest puzzle. Teresa always looked forward to and appreciated the compassionate care she received from County Homemakers. Teresa was a kind and caring person who will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Teresa was predeceased by Donald and Peggy Rankin, as well as her long-time friend, Jerome Nadeau. There will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A mass in Teresa’s honor will take place Monday, February 13th, 7 p.m. at Saint Mary’s Parish, Frenchvale. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to TJ Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St, Glace Bay 902-849-4199. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the heart and stroke foundation of Nova Scotia.
