Obituary of John Alphonsis MacDonald

John Alphonsis MacDonald, 76 of Lakeside, passed away suddenly on Friday March 31,2017 at home. Born in Little Judique Ponds, Cape Breton, he was the son of the late John William and Margaret Veronica MacDonald. John had a lengthy career in the brokerage business and retired from Peace Bridge Brokers in 2006. John also owned Maritime Rentals for a brief period, he enjoyed family dinner get togethers, watching sports, especially hockey on Saturday nights, movies, travel, music and collection memorabilia. John will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his sister Sally Payne of Montreal and a brother Danny of Halifax and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers Raymond, Stan and sister Marguerite (Thorne) and in childhood brothers Daniel Francis and John Francis as well as sister Mary. Cremation has taken place under the direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford, 902-835-4212. A memorial mass will be Friday April 7,2017, 1pm at Saint Mother Teresa of Kolkata Parish, 6032 Normandy Dr, Halifax. Burial will in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lower Sackville.
