He especially enjoyed his time spent with family and friends at the cottage. Every fall, he turned the cottage into a hunting camp and although he no longer hunted, he hosted friends and family for some good times and comradery. He will be dearly missed by the many nieces and nephews whom he loved and teased but would do anything for them. He was the last surviving member of his family, having been predeceased by his parents, brother Nathan and sisters Kathleen, Alice and Lettie.
