Obituary of Alex Kosick

Alex Kosick, 75 of Glace Bay passed away Saturday April 8,2017, at the Glace Bay Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, NS. He was the son of Antonina Drabek and John Kosick. Alex was an outdoorsman. If he wasn’t fishing or hunting, he was loading up the van with kids and family heading to the country. He was often found singing and playing guitar. For over 30 years he played hockey wearing his signature red helmet. His outgoing personality was matched by his contagious smile and sense of humor. His compassionate and generous manner made you feel welcome and at ease. He is survived by his loving wife Rose (Campbell), daughter Corinna and son in law Cory Murrant, two special special grandchildren; Brenna and Tylan, brothers Fred (Nancy) and Stevie (Lois); sisters Helen MacLean and Olga (Andy) Sader and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Francie, Violet and Mary; also by brother Cecil. Cremation has taken place, a celebration of Alex’s life will be Thursday April 12,2017 at 11am at the Tracey Family Funeral Home, Glace Bay, 902-849-4199. Rev. Norman MacPhee officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to palliative care and the Cancer unit. A special thank you to the palliative care team, the nursing staff on third south at the Glace Bay hospital, and to all those who provided such attentive medical care for Alex.
