Obituary of Muriel Frances Smith

Smith, Muriel Frances, age 83, of Halifax, passed away April 29, 2017 at Northwood in Halifax, NS. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late George Watters (Halifax) and Florence LaPierre Watters (East Chezzetcook). Muriel was a Roman Catholic and grew up in Halifax. She was employed with the Provincial government in Halifax in her younger years and relocated to Virginia, USA where she married. Muriel was a very loving person with a fine sense of humour. She is survived by her children; Leroy Bruce, Deborah, Michael Christopher and Penny, all of USA; brothers, Frederick, Kenneth, George, all of Halifax; and sister Doris Bowen of Pugwash Junction; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, all of Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by brothers, Ronald, Bernard and Gerald; and sister Jean. Muriel’s immediate family would like to thank the staff of the 4th floor centre (and many others) for the special attention and loving care bestowed on Muriel during her seven year stay while living at Northwood. It was most appreciated. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford (902) 835-4212. Burial will be held in USA at a later date.
