Uncle Joe its tough to hear you’re gone. You always embraced the humorous side of life. Either through your stories or actions you could always make me laugh. I’ll remember how you claimed Uncle Andre trained one of his chickens to attack you on sight! When you showed up for our garage sale at CFB Summerside and decided to take charge as our lead salesman and got $20 for a $5 guitar as you told the Base Chief “it was previously owned by Jose Feliciano!”. Or when you, Camille and Stacey visited us in Germany. You and Dad found out that the village schnapps maker starts putting out no limit samples at 9am on Saturday. An hour & a half and three choruses of Sonny’s Dream later, you and Dad show up back home, an hour late by the way, to take Camille and Mom on a car trip to Switzerland. To say that Camille and Mom were steamed would put it mildly. If you weren’t crossing an international border that day I’m know Camille would’ve put you in the trunk! Those and many more stories still make me laugh. Uncle Joe, I always looked forward to seeing you and I will always remember you. Love Jamie – Winnipeg, Manitoba.
