Welner, Rodney Granville – 83, of Lantz passed away May 23, 2017 at home. Born in Mount Uniacke, he was a son of the late Roland and Lucy Welner. Rod was an electrician but also a jack of all trades. In his younger years he had his pilot’s license and enjoyed many hours of flying. His greatest passion was his weekly poker games which he played for over 40 years. Rod’s quick wit will be missed by all who knew him. Survived by his soulmate of 13 years, Myrtle; son, Steven (Candice); daughter, Susan (Billy); brothers, Allison and Winston; sister, Violet; and grandchildren, Randy, Ryan and Jonathan. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters, Mildred and Betty; and brothers, Ross, Carol and Lawrence. Graveside service will be held Saturday, May 27 at 1:00pm in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Sackville. Donations in Rod’s memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
