Please share a memory of Beryl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Beryl Black (Age 91) on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Ivany Place, Bedford. Born in Llangym, Wales, Beryl was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith Jones (Gaiseford). Beryl met her husband, Robert, when he was overseas in the Air Force during the war. She came to Canada through Pier 21 in Halifax and married Robert settling in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Beryl worked for the NSGEA in Halifax and raised four children. She enjoyed travelling, with many trips back to her beloved Wales, and Lawn Bowling, where her skills landed her in Vancouver to compete in the Nationals. She belonged to a Bedford Bridge Club, loved gardening and loved her Sunday teas with her family. She was also a member of the All Saints Anglican Church in Bedford. Beryl is survived and will be greatly missed by her sons, Wayne (Lorraine), Lower Sackville; Barry (Mary), Waverley; daughters, Sharon (Kelly) Adams, Bedford; Rhonda (Carl) Hartlen, Middle Sackville; grandchildren, Robbie, Lindsay, Christopher, Shane, Jeffrey, Michael, Aaron, Lisa, Andrew; great grandchildren, Jayden and Gianna. She is predeceased by husband, Robert; brother, Leaman Jones and sister, Edna Ward. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering, “Celebration of Life”, will be held. The family would like to thank the staff of Ivany Place. A special “Thank You” to friend Terrilynn Nugent who brought her laughter and companionship. Beryl was a kind and very special lady who will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
