Obituary of Barbara Bernice Yeo

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barbara Bernice Yeo of Lower Sackville on June 15, 2017. Barbara was an active member of St. Ignatius Church and an avid quilter with Acadia Hall quilting for the homeless. Barbara’s career spanned over 42 years as a teacher for Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board in Ontario also teaching in NFLD and Manitoba. Barbara is remembered by her daughters, Pamela Fedorchuk and Karen Overbaugh; sons in law, Rod Robinson and Scott Overbaugh; grandchildren, Kortni, Kenneth, Evan and Aiden; sisters, Mary Hammond of Fort McMurray AB and Catherine Tapper of Torbay NFLD; along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara was predeceased by James Yeo, Nell Yeo; and parents Thomas and Bridget Yeo. The family would like to thank the Ministry, C.W.L. & Evena Group of St. Ignatius for their kindness and compassionate care during this difficult time. Including friends, family, VON, We Care and the Canadian Red Cross for all their support. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held in St. Ignatius, 5 Bedford Street, Bedford NS on Thursday, June 22 at 2:00 pm. A private family interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville, NS. In honour of Barbara and in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada.
