Obituary of Charlette N. Gebhardt

Charlette Nadine Gebhardt August 27, 1972 – March 11, 2019 The family and friends of Charlette Nadine (née Wheatley) Gebhardt, age 46, are in shock. Sometime during the morning of Monday, March 11, 2019, our little Charlettey, suffering from a bad case of the flu, kissed her husband goodbye as he left for work and then went back to bed. She curled up under her blankets and settled in for a nap. Only this time, she never woke up. Charlette was the much-loved wife of Gunnar Gebhardt; the mother of Jacob Gebhardt (Chelsey Negus); the youngest daughter of Thomas and (the late) Anne Wheatley; the little sister of Melissa (Jeff Williams) and Melinda (Costas Tsimpoukas) and Charmaine; favourite cousin of Geoff Elliott; and best friend of Marlene Gillis. An avid bug collector in her early years, Charlette loved all of God’s creatures (including lizards) and was the devoted guardian of her newly adopted dog, Watson, Chi Chi the Chinchilla and the late Ella, an old English bulldog. Charlette’s husband and family hope you can join them in a celebration of her life at the Austenville Owls Club, 34 Oakdale Crescent, Dartmouth, on Saturday, March 16 from 2 to 5 pm. Since she was her Mother’s favourite (although neither would admit it) and shared a very close bond with her, Charlette will be interred next to her Mom during a graveside service for immediate family and close friends only at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens on Monday, March 18 at 10 am.
