Obituary of Sandra J. H. Hutchins

HUTCHINS, Sandra Jane H., age 76 of Middle Sackville, died peacefully at Hants Community Hospital on March 11th, 2019. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, on April 7th, 1942, she was a daughter of the late James and Edna (Chafe) Sharpe. Sandra was self employed as a hairdresser in Glace Bay for over 20 years. On September 25th, 1981, she married the Reverend Edgar Brian Hutchins at Saint Mary’s Church in Glace Bay. She assisted Brian with his ministry in many different Anglican parishes throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. In 2006 they retired to Middle Sackville. Beside her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her husband Brian; and sister Millicent Shoemaker. She is survived by sister Alma Anderson; nephews Trevor Anderson, Darryl Anderson, Jamie Anderson, James Shoemaker, and Michael Shoemaker, as well as many good friends. Cremation has taken place under the care of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Bedford. Requiem Eucharist and committal to follow in the churchyard will be announced at a later date. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Holy Spirit or a charity of your choice.
