As one of the last members of the greatest generation, Art Gillis left a template of how to live a life as a Canadian citizen in times of war and peace, in times of joy and sorrow. He demonstrated those qualities in his every interaction with the people of Dominion and the wider communities of Nova Scotia. Art was one of those people who, no doubt, will be greeted at heaven’s door with the words,”Well done thou good and faithful servant.” He will be truly missed but we are so thankful that we knew him!
