GAIGNEUR, Richard Francis “Butch”

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Butch Gaigneur, age 78, on August 2, 2017 at the Glace Bay Healthcare Complex, Glace Bay; surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Edward and Laura (Taylor) Gaigneur.
Butch worked at various jobs throughout the years, his last being with LeBlanc’s Transfer before retiring.
He enjoyed the great things in life, hunting and fishing, gardening, tinkering in the yard, Sunday morning visits with George, afternoon drives with Frances, many family gatherings, and enjoying a cold beer.
Butch is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Frances (MacMullen); his six children, Dick (Winnie), Debbie (Lester), Margaret, Eddie, John and Michael (Judy); his 13 wonderful grandchildren; his five precious great-grandchildren; brother, Peter (Henrietta); sister, Diane (Mickey) as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 with Rev. Carol Gillard officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199. Burial to follow at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
