Dear Cathy, Jason and Caitlin, I got to know Gary when he came back to school in Grade 10 at Sidney Stephen High School. He was my best friend but some said he was my body guard although he was just a big teddy bear. To know him was to love him which I did. He was a great role model and will be sadly missed. I was sad to hear of the passing of my friend and fellow musician. I played guitar in the band “”The Nitemen” with Gary around Nova Scotia in the 60’s. We had a great time playing at the Lantz school on Saturday nights. A great time. About a month ago I was playing at Stadicona, and Gary came to see me at our break. We had a wonderful conversation about the old days. He sang a song with us on the next set. He was a great friend and he will be missed. God bless the family. Bob Gibb

I am shocked and saddened on hearing of Gary’s passing. My prayers go out to the family. I knew Gary as a very talented fellow musician/singer and a gentle man. to the Bowers family, i am truly sorry for the lost of a great man Gary Bowers. he was an inspiration to so many ,including myself. I only knew Gary just from living in the Fall River area.
