I'm terribly shocked and sad to hear about Billy, I grew up In Beaver Bank and went to school with him. We became great friends in high school and played together on the school hockey team. He was a fantastic hockey player with the hardest, fastest slap shot on the team and a force to be reckoned with on the ice.
I fondly remember switching positions to goalie once in a practice and standing behind his shots - definitely scary!
I also remember working at Cleves in Lower Sackville after high school, Billy would only bring his skates to me be sharpened, he was very fussy and wouldn't let anyone else touch them.
My sincere condolences to the Murphy family, I have nothing but great memories of Billy, he was a funny fantastic guy.

Lee, Jana and Cameron, you all are in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn the passing of Billy. He will be missed by many. He was a friend of the family for many years and even watched videos of our grandsons off road racing this past summer. Billy is at peace.
Love - Mike & Jean. xoxo

I grew up with Billy in Beaverbank and always laugh when I think of all of us kids biking around his subdivision like little hoodlums, even though we weren't, and cutting through his neighbour's yard to get to his house. The neighbour would always step outside and yell at us to stop cutting through!
Never stopped us though!

So sorry to hear of Billy's passing. I had the privilege to hunt with him and his Dad in the Cobequid Hills, and to play a little pick-up hockey with him years ago.
Condolences to the entire family. May your memories of Billy be a comfort.

To Sheila and Bernie
My heartfelt condolences to you on this huge loss of your dear son Billy.
I remember him as a rough and tumble little boy, loving everything outdoors, with a spirited personality.
His obituary relflected that spirit so well and it is obvious he was loved and respected by many as he grew into adulthood.
May your precious memories give you comfort in these difficult days ahead.

So sorry to hear of Billy's passing. I worked with Billy through out the years in refineries, shops, and Shipyards. He was a top drawer Welder and Pipefitter. And definitely a hard worker. He will be missed for sure. My sincere condolences to his family.

Billy has always been at the front when I reminisce through my minor hockey memories. As a goalie, I always appreciated his "beast mode" as a defenseman if he thought that his goalie needed help. He was the best at "clearing the crease out".
Billy always had a smile and we often had random chuckles in the dressing room about the dumbest stuff.
RIP ol' skipper.

We shared hilarious hunting stories and some true belly laughs. He was a hard nut to crack though! He refused to believe I was a hunter! Made me go great lengths to prove it! Lol
Great soul, gone too soon.
My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Billy and I had alot of laughs over the years at work. He told me he was very proud that he achieved his red seal in both welding and pipefitting. The last time I spoke with Billy was when I went back to the shipyard for a short stint. We talked for over an hour about mental health and he gave me a hug and told me good to see you again. We worked together at a couple different companies and spoke highly of his wife.

I knew Billy for years and spent a lot of time with him in Jr High, High School and for a few years after that before we lost touch. He was always funny, willing to lend a hand to anyone, he helped us move to our new home years ago with his little red truck. Have fond memories of our friendship, sincere condolences to his family and friends. I am sure he will be watching over all of you.
