Franceaco (Frank) Miceli
January 20, 1967 – December 29, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franceaco (Frank) Miceli, aged 57, who left us far too soon on December 29, 2024. Born in Ontario, Frank was the son of Rosetta (Berardi) and the late Angelo Miceli of Ontario.
A proud and hardworking man, Frank’s life was defined by love, dedication, and joy. He was a loyal member of the Insulators Union of Edmonton Local 110 for 11 years, bringing the strong work ethic he developed as a butcher in his hometown of Thunder Bay, where he worked for over 20 years.
Known for never missing a day of work, Frank’s commitment to his family was just as unwavering. He was a deeply involved and supportive father, always starting phone calls with a warm “Hey bud” to his son, Myles. Marissa knew she would always be Daddy’s little peanut. In their younger years, Frank cheered Myles on at hockey tournaments and proudly watched Marissa excel in swimming. He loved sharing their achievements with anyone who would listen.
Frank was an avid Texas Hold 'Em player and a passionate Minnesota Vikings fan. One of his fondest memories was attending a game at the new stadium with his son, a moment of great joy. His love for sports was deep, and recently, he embraced the role of grandfather, which brought him immense pride and excitement, especially with the upcoming arrival of his third grandchild.
Proud of his Italian heritage, Frank cherished the traditions passed down through generations. His mother’s cooking, particularly her pasta, was a source of great joy. “Mangia, mangia” was a phrase often heard, as Frank always left her home with a full belly—his mother never took no for an answer.
A true handyman, Frank had a remarkable ability to fix anything. He and his beloved wife, Denise, shared a deep love and enjoyed many trips together over their 20 years as a couple. They relocated to Cape Breton Island to begin a new chapter, cherishing their life there.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend—a man who gave his all to those he loved and left a lasting legacy of kindness, hard work, and family values.
He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Denise; daughter Marissa (Matthew) Casoria; son Myles Miceli (Jen Galamb); stepchildren Katryna (James) Byrne and Berek Kadikoff (Caitlin Campbell), all of Thunder Bay; two grandchildren, Mason and Banx; his mother Rosetta and sister Rina (John) Daniar; and mother-in-law Jessie, Denise's siblings, Lisa Maidment, Sharon Brewer (Gordie Sinclair), Linda McNeil (Dave MacNeil) and Roy Maidment (Tracey Ross). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Frank was predeceased by his father, Angelo Miceli, in 2001.
