Obituary of Margaret Anne Adams
It is with deep grief and sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Anne Adams at the loving hands of Hospice, on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Born in Margaree, Margie was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Leblanc. She eventually moved to Sydney Forks where she would grow up, marry (and would eventually divorce) and raise two kids on her own at a young age, eventually moving to Coxheath, where she would plant her roots.
Margie drove taxi for numerous years, known as Briand’s Cab, back then. She would eventually say goodbye to the occupation and focus on her granddaughter. Margie was very crafty, and in her spare time she could make anything you could put in front of her. The artistry she had was amazing; she could make dolls, toys, blankets; anything you could imagine, she could do it.
She always had a passion for the beach when she was younger. She would pack up the kids and hitchhike a drive (we can all laugh about it now). After surviving Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer in 1984, she found a new purpose and love of life – dancing! If there was a place that she could go and dance, that’s where she was! Rock ‘N Roll was her. Her best friend, Darlene, was the one right beside her, they would continue to make so many memories and laughs! Although we never did get all the “details” - peeing their pants in the washroom due to laughing, I’m sure is all we need to know - that tells us what Margie was all about.
Then came her granddaughter, who would change everything. The light of her life; she had a new purpose, one she still talked about to this day. You could always find her sledding or building snowmen in the winter with her grandchildren, in the summer you would find her baking, biking…the list could go on. She thoroughly enjoyed everything she did with her grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren more than life itself.
Christmas was her favorite time of year; she loved decorating and baking gingerbread, where she made wonderful memories with her great grandchildren, Kaysen and Mckenna. They were her life, and she was theirs. We could always count on getting chocolate and socks for our gifts, (haha) that was a tradition we’ll cherish forever.
Birthdays were a big tradition in her house, you could always count on her making it a party! – between the lights and balloons, oh and the chocolate cake with boiled icing!
Margie is survived by her son, Darren Adams; daughter, Annette (Rick) Adams; brothers, Frank, and Gerard; sisters, Rita (Fred), and Janet; sister-in-law, Carol Leblanc; grandchildren, Paulette, Charles, John, Braysen, and Cail; and great-grandchildren, Kaysen, McKenna, Finley, Lokey, Ruby, and Mavin, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margie was predeceased by her brother, Jaimee, and sister-in-law, Rose.
A special thank you to the nurses and doctors, especially Dr. D’Intino of Hospice. We can’t express enough appreciation; the compassion and care you showed Margie will forever be in our hearts.
Donations in Margie’s memory may be made to Hospice Cape Breton.
