Matilda ‘Tillie’ Morrison Glace Bay The family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Tillie Morrison, age 85, of Chappel Drive on December 15, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Tillie was the daughter of James and Dora Denny and grew up in Glace Bay, NS. Tillie was the beloved wife of Bobby Morrison and mom to Craig, Derek and Dawn Celene (Steve) and Buddy the cat. Tillie was full of faith. Originally a parishioner at St Anthony’s Parish and presently at St. Anne’s Parish. Tillie was a registered nurse that started her career at St Joseph’s Hospital moving to Glace Bay General where she dedicated herself to the patients that were fortunate enough to be in her care. You knew that you would be in great hands if Tillie was your nurse. No one ever had an unkind word to say about Tillie. She was always noticed and praised for her nursing. Tillie was the epitome of kindness and was always wanting to give back to anyone and everyone in need. She was constantly making donations to different charities and wanting to do whatever she could for others. She was often referred to as Snow White due to her abundant love of children and animals. There wasn’t an animal that did not love her. She always had treats on hand and special mention to the solitary seagull that knocked on her front door every day without fail for his snack. Tillie is also survived by grandsons Devon (Caitlyn) and Dhane (Kennedy); her brothers, David (Gena) Michael, Jimmy (Diane); three sisters, Rita (Jack), Mary Marylin (Maurice) and Leona; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Ferguson, Omar Sloan, Art Loggie, Blair and Jimmy Morrison (Valerie), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband Bobby, sisters Arlette, Jean, Ann, and Gail, sister-in-law Gloria. Special thanks to the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, the ER Dept, especially Jenna and YK and the palliative care unit staff for helping our Mom. “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving” Mother Teresa. Donations can be made to SPCA or any charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thurs, December 19, 2024, from 4 to 7 p.m. at T.J.
