Michelle, Nicole, and Wendy, my deepest condolences on the sudden passing of Barry. It was a shock. He will be greatly missed by his Boston family. My mom, Sadie MacLeod especially looked forward to his visits to Benacadie, every summer. He always had a funny story or a great memory to share. He was so thoughtful and great in an emergency. When Sadie was stuck in the country, far from home, during Covid, Barry brought her everything she needed to decorate for Christmas: tree , ornaments, lights, wreaths, tablecloth, everything.
RIP cousin
Love you
Karen and Leo

To Barry's Family
My sincere condolences' on your loss. I had the privilege of working with Barry fundraising for the Glace Bay School Band and later alongside Barry, a chaperone for their trip to Disney. Barry was full of life, funny and a joy to be around. His community will miss him greatly.

Condolences to Barry’s family and friends. It was a shock to hear of his passing. He was well known, well respected and when my sisters husband passed away, it was Barry and Sandy Gillard were there to help out. He helped out anyone who needed it. He will be missed for sure. He was one of the best skaters in Glace Bay with Gerard McKay and Billy Scott back in the day.
May he RIP

Nicole, Michelle and extended family, we were shocked and saddened to hear Barry has passed. Archie worked with your dad at DEVCO and later was always happy to stop for a chat when their paths crossed. Archie often talked about working with Barry and was happy when he realized his daughter was friends with our Lindsay. May God give you strength at this sad time and may your beautiful memories of your dad bring you a sense of peace and May he rest in Peace in Gods beautiful garden with your mom by his side.

Barry indeed was one of a kind. He will be remembered for all the things said in the obituary, and for many things that weren’t said.
All good of course. I am proud to say that he was my cousin, and indeed a good friend. He could always be counted on to step up, and there were always laughs when he was around.
My condolences to Michelle, Nicole, Wendy, and all relatives and friends.
He will be missed.
Sincerely,
Donald Mac Leod

Both of us were shocked and saddened to hear of Barry’s passing. Barry was married to a dear friend Lynda from Park Street in Dominion. My hubby became friends with Barry over the past number of years. Leave it to Barry to share something funny and yet poignant in his last letter. We probably should all write a letter like this. His humour, his great laugh and funny stories will be remembered always. It’s gonna be strange here without him for sure. Anytime we bumped into him we knew we’re were gonna have a great laugh. May God’s strength be with all of you during this most difficult and painful time. We will remember him forever.

My sincere condolences to Barry’s family and friends. I worked with Barry at Canada Post. He always had the best advice, a smile that shined, and always singing a tune or two. He loved his three girls with his whole heart and soul. He would always swing by to say hello when he was in Sydney. I was sadden to read of his passing. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. I raise my glass to your Dad/ Barry! God Bless

To Barry's family, I am so sorry to hear of Barry's passing. I saw him on my last trip to Glace Bay just a couple of months ago. As usual he was sitting in his vehicle in the Lawtons parking lot people watching and waving to the many people he knew that drove or walked by. I have many fond memories of growing up in the neighborhood of which the Bissons were a part. It was such a fun time! Barry may be a little closer to heaven, but he will be forever missed and loved by those he left behind. May he rest in peace with his beloved Linda.

Well, Barry, we shared a lot of laughs old buddy . We worked together, we rode the rails together, we took a chance and hustled our way to Alberta around the same time and ultimately we returned and brought hundreds and hundreds of friends and old Bay Byes together in our efforts to reflect on our best days in our beloved GlaceBay. Our concerted efforts to make the FenceFolks Reunion in 2010 a celebration of all our lives was a huge success and your partnership was one of the elements that made it so magical. Just weeks ago we had our last chat at “The Office” , you, me and Priscilla. We covered a lot of ground that day. Priscilla laughed all throughout and was in awe of the stories that day. We did not know Barry that conversation was going to be our last one, but , my friend, it was fitting that we shared those moments with you such a short time ago. As well Old Buddy, I think we captured the True Barry Bisson in the picture posted today in your last words to all of your friends and comrades. As we did on that night of the Reunion ,when we sat out on the side step of the Parish Center, I will take the last puff in your honour my friend. Rest now with your beloved St.Linda . We will always remember your wit, wisdom, and friendship….Yours truly, Joey, Priscilla, Lindsay, and Alison.
