Obituary of Gary John Gaudet

Gary John Gaudet, 66 Glace Bay, N.S. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary John Gaudet, age 66, on November 29, 2024, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Gary was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Lillian (Drover) and Leonard Gaudet on October 17, 1958. He was predeceased by both his parents, two brothers David and Darrell, brother-in-law Donald, nieces Joanne Holland and Renee Gaudet. Gary is survived by his long-time partner, Ruby MacGillivary of Glace Bay, sister Marie Holland, brother Barry (Debbie), sister Barbara Gaudet, brother Bruce (Donna), two sisters-in-law Jean Gaudet and Debbie Gaudet, and many nieces and nephews. He was the youngest of the "three little ones" in a family of seven children. Gary had a huge soft spot for animals, especially the dogs he owned over the years. He loved to cook family meals and was known for his delicious seafood chowder. Gary retired from Dalhousie University after 35 years of service. Cremation has taken place; no service by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
