Morrison, Eileen Marie

It is with love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eileen Marie Morrison, 93 on November 30, 2024, in the Glace Bay Hospital after a lengthy illness. Eileen was born in Reserve Mines and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mamie White.

Eileen lived a long vibrant and full life. Her life centered around her family and her enduring faith in the church. Her love for music was showcased as the choir director for many years with her church and the Coal Town Chorus. She was actively involved in many committees and events within the church throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed skating and bowling and was excellent at both. She loved playing cards with close friends, going to bingo, and the odd trip to the casino. She loved a good singalong and playing the piano for family and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Charlene (Brent) Gallant, her sons Blair and Bruce (Ann) and her only beloved grandchild Mark. She is survived by her sisters Marion (Danny) Mulvenna, Helen McKay, Corrine (Junior) Dye, Sandra White, Brenda Glavich.

Eileen is predeceased by her husband Charles Morrison, brothers Gerald, Cyril, Elmer and sisters Muriel and Sylvia.

A special thanks goes out to the staff on 3 south and ambulatory care of Glace Bay Hospital for there excellent care during her illness. Also, the family extends a special thanks to Laurel Beth Smith RN who went above and beyond with our mother during her time of need.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held on December 7, 2024, at 11a.m., in Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay, with Fr. Norman MacPhee presiding.
