Obituary of Donna MacCarthy

Georgina ‘Donna’ MacCarthy Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Georgina MacCarthy, age 72 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by her loving family. Donna was the heart and soul of our family and there will be a tremendous void in our homes and our hearts left from her passing. What she may have lacked in means she more than made up with work ethic and dedication. Up until her illness in 2018 she made an immeasurable impact on the clients and friends whose homes she entered during her many years of service with Sandra and Sparkles Cleaning Service! This was evident through the amount of cards and gifts she would accumulate at Christmas time. Her grandchildren (and new great grandson) were the light of her life, never missing an opportunity to spoil them at moment’s notice. Donna is survived by her loving husband, Danny MacLeod; son, Norman (Nicole); daughter, Tammy; loving grandchildren, Owen, Connor, Jasmine (Kody), Lucas and Landon and her precious great grandson, Hudson. She is also survived by her brother, Victor and sisters, Valerie and Lorna as well as several nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her brother John and sister Diane. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Donations in Donna's memory may be made to the Glace Bay Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit, or a charity of one’s choice. A special thank you to the staff of the Renal Dialysis units at the Glace Bay General Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital who have taken special care of Donna over the past 6 years.
