Obituary of Anne Marie Livingstone

It is with broken hearts that the family wishes to announce the passing of Anne Marie Livingstone on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney, Anne was the daughter of the late Dougie and Sophie MacDonald. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert; son, Chuck Livingstone (Nicki), Nine Mile River, NS; daughters, Debbie Livingstone, and Christene Livingstone, both of Halifax; her three grandchildren, Charlie, Jack, and Blair Livingstone, Nine Mile River; and brother, Dougie MacDonald (Carol), Sarnia, Ont. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Debbie Morrison and Carol MacDonald. Mom was the best stay-at-home mother until her children were grown, after which she was a longtime employee of the R.C. MacGillivray Guest Home until her retirement in 2012. Mom mostly enjoyed being at home and spending time with her husband, Robbie, her children, and her “Mama’s” boy, Rosco. She always loved an odd night out to play Bingo. Nanny had a special place in her heart for each of her 3 grandchildren, Charlie, Jack, and Blair. She loved them all dearly. Nanny and Grampy loved watching them grow and especially loved watching all of their sports and activities. They could do no wrong in Nanny’s eyes. She will be loved and forever missed. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Dr., Sydney, NS, 902-539-7175. As per Anne’s request, there will be no visitation or service. A committal service will take place for family members at a later date in St. James Cemetery, Big Bras d’Or.
