Obituary of Norma Marie LeBlanc

Norma Marie LeBlanc, 96 Glace Bay, N.S. It is with deep sadness, that we the family of Norma Marie LeBlanc announce her passing on October 24, 2024, in the MacGillvary Guest Home, Sydney. Norma was the daughter of the late William and Christina (O’Handley) McMullin. Norma was a former member of St. Anthony Parish and was a member of St. Anne’s Sodality for many years, as well as St. Vincent de Paul Society. Mom was a Foster Parent for many years, and over a period of 27 years she fostered 92 children. Norma adopted her four children, Wendy, Charnell, Dougie and Billy. Later in life, mom worked in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Glace Bay, as a Nurse’s Aid. Norma was our mum, but a mother to many. Norma is survived by her two sons: Dougie LeBlanc (Estelita) and Billy LeBlanc; two daughters: Wendy Curnew and Charnell LeBlanc (Claudia); three grandchildren: Christa, Cheryl, and Chelsea; nine great-grandchildren: James, Sofia, Julia, Bria, Mason, Marcus, Gregory, Gracie, and Brycen; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Norma was predeceased by her companion of twenty-seven years Gerald Shaw, brothers Billy and Gerard McMullin; sisters Beverly MacNeil (Gussie), Jean Young (Joseph), nephew Ronnie MacNeil and niece Joanne Young. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 2 p.m., with Lily MacDonald presiding, in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199.
