John Fredrick Colman Munro, 79, of Bedford passed away peacefully at the Windsor Regional Hospital on Nov. 7, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, he was the eldest son of the late John and Violet Munro.
John is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheila; daughters, Tara (Bill) Stephenson of Fort McMurray, Shawna Paton of Edmonton, Braunwyn (Brian) Powell of Fall River, and son Colman (Judy) of Timberlea; cherished grandchildren, Ian, Lauren, Bryan, Chelsea, Jacob, Nicole, Erika, Breagh, Ryan, and Kyle; his sisters Joan Crossley, Barb Sturdy and brother David Munro; many nieces and nephews.
John worked most of his career as an accountant but his real passion was for painting, teaching art and music lessons to young and old. John will be remembered for his sense of humour, his boisterous laugh and bringing his fun loving shenanigans to family gatherings.
A heartfelt thank you to Erin, Paula, and all of the kind hearted homecare workers who took such loving care of John while he was home; family doctor, Dr. Brian Pickett; VON Nurses; the wonderful Palliative Care team at the Windsor Regional Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
John would want you all to enjoy a good laugh, conversation, and friendship together over a cup of tea and good food.
