Obituary of Brandon MacDonald

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brandon Tyler Kenneth MacDonald (Lil B), 28, of Sydney, on October 16,2024. Brandon was born on July 14,1996 in Sydney, to parents Cheryl and Barry MacDonald. He graduated from Memorial High School with his plumbing and pipe fitting trade. As a child, Brandon enjoyed playing hockey, either on the ice or road, roller blading, skateboarding, swimming at Ben Eion beach with family, and playing video games. Growing up Brandon would spend his summers in Illinois with his grandfather, Ken, drag racing. Drag racing was something Brandon had a passion for where he and his buddy Alex S tried to conquer every drag strip their wheels touched. In his time in the United States, Brandon met so many people and created relationships he cherished. Brandon had a big heart and a sense of humour that could brighten anyone’s day, he was always willing to lend a helping hand or an ear for someone to talk off. In his spare time Brandon enjoyed arguing with his sisters, being mom’s boy, working on many cars with his dad and hanging out with his friends. Left to mourn his loss are his parents, Barry and Cheryl (Burns) MacDonald; sisters, Alixandria (Brandon), Hannah (Carter), and Rebecca “Becky” Hastie, grandmother Diane Moore and grandfather, Kenny Burns (Sandy Begyn); uncles, Dwayne (Lisa) Moore, Bruce MacDonald, and Daniel MacDonald, aunts, Christina (Vern) Stockley, Marguerite (John) MacDonald, Audrey MacDonald, and Karen Vassallo; cousins, Caitlyn Moore, Stephen MacDonald, Ricky & Darren Vassallo, and Stephen & Johnena Dawe, and his companions, Theo & Ash. Additionally, an abundance of additional family members from The Moore’s, Burns, Magliaro’s and Begyn’s. Brandon shared the last 2 years of his life with Brielynn Pero and her girls, Jordie & Beckah for whom he had a large admiration and love. According to Beckah, Brandon was the ‘BEST FINDER EVER!’. There is comfort in knowing Brandon was welcomed with opened arms by family members who predeceased him, including his grandfather Michael “Kenny” Moore, grandmother Alice MacDonald, great-grandparents Paulina & Lawerence Somers, Margaret & Robert Burns and Cecila & Michael “Mick” Moore, many aunts and uncles, cousin, Bryson Moore, godmother, Elaine Delaney and furry friends, Sammy, Roxy and his best bud Rex.
