Obituary of H. Campbell "Cam" Robertson

Please share a memory of H. Campbell "Cam" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
H. Campbell "Cam" Robertson, Dominion, N.S. It is with the heaviest hearts, we the family of H. Campbell "Cam" Robertson announce his passing on Friday, October 11th, 2024. We filled his home with love and laughter. He heard his great grandchildren run and play. There was music, shared stories of his kind heart and sense of humor. His "dad jokes" will be so missed. He was surrounded by those he was most proud of, his family. Our Dad was born on February 25th, 1949, and he made the world a better place. He was kind and gentle, humble and proud, loving, sweet and supportive. He was funny, his wit being the quickest thing about him, because he was never in a hurry. He was everything we wanted to instill in our children, so there is comfort when we see him in them. He had a work ethic like no other and was employed for 62 years. Taking his first job at 13 years old following his father's (Kenneth Robertson) death, to help support his mother (Anne Campbell Robertson) and their household. Da was never without a job. He joined the Navy and didn't leave until he met the love of his life, his wife of 53 years Glenda Howie Robertson. They were inseparable from the start. He supported his family as a coal miner for 25 years. With the closing of the coal mines, he went to work for Purolator for a time. His final position that he loved above all others was with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He spoke so highly of the people he met and worked with over the years, but those in his final posting held a special place with him. Retirement was not in his vocabulary, so he never did. Da was predeceased by both of his parents, and his son Todd. Surviving is his wife Glenda, who was forever joined at his hip. He was the perfect father to Jody (Stu), Shauna (Darrell), and Arlene. He was Bampi, or Bampie (they never could agree on the spelling) to his grandchildren, Courtney (Mitch), Anthony (Tia), Kelsey (JB), Emma (Kevin), Garrett, Cody, Breah, and Brayden. Great grandchildren, Gavin, Everleigh, Kole, Abby, Myla, Kaisley and Harper. He was Dude, to Arlanna, Kaitlin "Lady Di" and Amelia. To Corinne "Rusty" he was the Turtle, and she held a special place in his heart. He also leaves behind his sister Anne Saunders, who he simply adored. To him, we were all "his bragging rights." Da's wish to remain at home, would not have been possible without the incredible care team that flowed so seamlessly together, Dr. Brake, and Barb Gouthro, the staff at the chest clinic, EHS, Palliative Care, and the VON. Our hearts, though broken, are filled with gratitude. As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation has taken place under the care of T.J. Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay. "So fill to me the parting glass, Goodnight and joy be to you all." Slainte Mhath!!
