Obituary of Joyce Lilyan McDermott

We are saddened to announce the passing of Joyce Lilyan McDermott, 90, at the MacGillivray Guest Home, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Born in Liverpool England, Joyce was the daughter of the late Arthur Jensen and Lillian Stocks. Joyce worked with the Federal government for 35 years and upon retirement, moved to Chester, NS, with her husband, Raymond. After Raymond’s passing, she moved to Northside East Bay. She is survived by her son, Sean (Mildred) McDermott, Northside East Bay; grandchildren, Danika, Nadine and Evan McDermott; step-grandchildren, Blair and Candice Osmond; and great-grandchildren, Josie, David, Sophia, Carson, Lucas, Isabella, Freya and Wesley. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond, and brother, Rodger. Special thanks to MacGillivray Guest Home for the care and compassion shown to Joyce. Donations in Joyce’s name may be made to an animal charity of one’s choice. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of T.J.
