Marjorie “Marge” Lavina McNeil Reserve Mines It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Marge McNeil on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Harbourview Hospital, Sydney Mines. Born in Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late John ‘Jack’ and Sadie (Dorie) Clark. Marge held various jobs over the years, later she was employed and retired from the housekeeping department at the Seaview Manor. She was a member of and attended St. Joseph Church, Reserve until her illness. Marge loved spending time with family and friends, her door was always opened to come in and share a cup of tea. She enjoyed singing, dancing and a good bowling match. She also enjoyed going to their bungalow in Gillis Lake, travelling near and far to visit with family and friends. Marge is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Theodore ‘Ted’, who never left her side; their four children, Johnny (Wendy), Robert (Lisa), Barry and Deborah MacMullin; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Jack and Sadie, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Stephen MacMullin. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating at the T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS, 902-849-4199. Burial to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, MacLeod’s Rd. with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Donations in Marge’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or the SPCA. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Taigh Solas, Harbourview Hospital for all their care and compassion given to Marge during the last three weeks.
